GCISD conducts water quality tests
In Grapevine-Colleyville ISD, the safety of our students and staff is a top priority. Amid questions about lead content in drinking water in some area school districts and out of an abundance of caution, GCISD is bringing in an environmental consultant to obtain and test water samples from facilities constructed before 1989. The district is focusing on these facilities because Congress mandated that any construction post-1986 be done with lead-free drinking water components. The goal is to have results in before the start of school. Additionally, the district will run its water systems to remove any water that was sitting in tanks or pipes over the summer.
