iHoot online newspaper celebrates its third year
iHoot, a student-run online newspaper, is beginning its third year at iUniversity Prep. Students ranging from fourth to 12th grade meet as a team once a week to discuss their story ideas ranging from everyday news and sports to DIY articles, and more. While some students focus on writing articles, others focus on the graphic design or photography for iHoot.
Hannah Faulkner, sophomore at iUniversity Prep and editor-in-chief of iHoot, leads the weekly meetings. She also makes sure that the deadlines are met for the newspaper.
“What makes iHoot so special is the relationship we create between students, journalism, and technology,” said Faulkner. “Online news sources are on the rise, so we work weekly to create content that is in line with modern journalism trends. Our staff is so passionate and write about subjects from breaking news to student focus.”
