GCISD reduces energy costs across district
In August, the Board of Trustees received a presentation on the status of the district partnership with Cenergistic where they learned that GCISD has saved $618,620 in projected energy costs since the program began. This equates to eliminating 645 passenger cars from roadways for one year.
"The staff’s efforts to reduce energy costs across the district has been a true team effort," said Paula Barbaroux, GCISD chief operations officer. "From changing maintenance and operations procedures to making personal changes or adjustments and shutting down equipment and closing blinds, we are helping our district reduce energy waste, save money and be better stewards of our community and environment."
